Why refrigerators cost more
Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerant gases (Freon, R-134a, or newer alternatives) that the EPA requires be safely captured before disposal. Disconnect coordination
For washing machines, we disconnect the water hoses on-site. For gas ovens, we can disconnect if you have shut off the gas valve, or we can coordinate with your plumber/gas company for the disconnect step. For built-in appliances (dishwashers, wall ovens), we handle the cabinet disconnect as part of the haul.
Donation when possible
Working appliances may go to a donation partner — Habitat ReStore, local thrift, community organizations — instead of the landfill. We assess working condition during pickup and route accordingly. If you know your appliance still works, mention it when booking and we will plan the donation route.
