Appliance Haul-Away in Seattle, Tacoma & the South Sound
Refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, dishwashers, and small appliances. Same-day common, refrigerant disposal handled.
Appliance haul-away is the most-requested specialty job in junk removal. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers — most homes have at least one appliance that needs to come out (replacement, move-out, kitchen renovation). Top Tier handles the disconnect, the haul, and the disposal across Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, and the South Sound. Same-day scheduling is common.
What is included
- Disconnect (washer hoses, gas oven by request, water lines)
- Removal from inside the home (no need to drag to the curb)
- Refrigerant disposal for refrigerators and freezers (EPA-required)
- Hauling and disposal at appropriate streams (recycle, donate, landfill)
- Same-day scheduling when available
Appliance haul-away pricing
Per-item rates. Multiple appliances on the same visit drop the per-item rate.
Refrigerator and freezer prices include the refrigerant-disposal surcharge ($25-$40) the transfer station charges separately. No surprises.
What we take
- Refrigerators and freezers (any size, any age)
- Washers and dryers (top-load, front-load, gas, electric)
- Ovens, ranges, and cooktops (gas and electric)
- Dishwashers (built-in or portable)
- Microwaves (countertop or built-in)
- Small appliances and kitchen gadgets
Why refrigerators cost more
Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerant gases (Freon, R-134a, or newer alternatives) that the EPA requires be safely captured before disposal. The transfer station charges a separate surcharge ($25-$40 per unit) for refrigerant-equipped appliances. That surcharge is built into the quoted price — no surprise fees.
Disconnect coordination
For washing machines, we disconnect the water hoses on-site. For gas ovens, we can disconnect if you have shut off the gas valve, or we can coordinate with your plumber/gas company for the disconnect step. For built-in appliances (dishwashers, wall ovens), we handle the cabinet disconnect as part of the haul.
Donation when possible
Working appliances may go to a donation partner — Habitat ReStore, local thrift, community organizations — instead of the landfill. We assess working condition during pickup and route accordingly. If you know your appliance still works, mention it when booking and we will plan the donation route.
Common bundles
- Move-out: old fridge + washer/dryer (no longer needed at the new place)
- Kitchen remodel: full kitchen appliance replacement
- Estate cleanout: multiple appliances across a multi-decade home
- Rental turnover: appliance replacement between tenants
FAQ
- Why does refrigerator removal cost more than other appliances?
- Refrigerators contain refrigerant gases that the EPA requires be safely captured. The transfer station charges a per-unit surcharge ($25-$40) for refrigerant-equipped appliances, which is built into your quote.
- Do you take working appliances?
- Yes. If your appliance still works, we route it to a donation partner instead of the landfill when possible. Mention working condition when booking so we can plan the donation route.
- Can you disconnect a built-in dishwasher or wall oven?
- Yes. We handle the cabinet disconnect as part of the haul. For gas ovens, we ask that the gas valve be shut off in advance — we can coordinate with your plumber if needed.
- How quickly can you come?
- Same-day common across the South Sound if booked before noon. After noon depends on crew availability. Tacoma, Puyallup, and Sumner are easiest to fit on short notice.
